Testing...Posting from IPhone.
I see now that this works backwards. The first pic is on the bottom. Ok
Quilt Alliance has a contest going on. Use any of the quilts from the thousands of quilts in their quilt index to inspire a 16" x 16" quilt. I started today. ( I hadn't planned to post this pic, thus the rustic pic).
This is my first attempt to make a blog post from my phone. I had to download the app. Let's see if it works!
Today I put the Japanese fabric strips on my design wall. At this junction, I plan to add black between the strips.
Right now I can't figure out how to get my cursor under the pic to write more!?

Winter Woes.....Laptop Woes....
Winter window. Love the icicle lines and the falling snow. But I have no idea how I did that! Cool though. This is the view out my kitchen window to part of my yard. The deer come up to that tree to dig for walnuts. I love my little house!
A friend cleaned up my laptop. I should have given him more info on the troubles. I still cannot find my pictures. When I download them from my camera, they don't go to My Pictures. I have to find them on Desktop and move them to Windows Photo. Even then, I don't know where they go! It is very frustrating.
I may have to pay my computer guy to get things back in order.
I have learned:
2. Jenn is 15 weeks prego now! Still don't know what baby will be. A Sean Michael or a Madison
3. Michael goes to Michigan this week for some air assault training. He graduated from his leadership class last week in top 20%. He is busy.
4. I filed my taxes myself. I hope I did things correctly. I pay the state of NY & the federal government a lot of money. :(
5. I am attending a healing mass for Sandy tonight in Marilla. A pet scan showed cancer in 3 different areas this past week. Prayers please.
6. This month's UFO, Sophia's quilt, is under needle as I write. I am doing my meandering quilting on this on also. I will have 2 finished quilts by end of February!

I have learned:
- Mela is crawling! I posted a video on FB of her new moves. Every week is a new thing. Melissa & Mela joined Pam & I yesterday for lunch and some thrift shopping. Mela was an angel.

Picture Play
Last month my little Fiberista group played with our numbered stitches on our machines. I used number 25 on my Bernina, the buttonhole stitch. If you recall I made a piece of black on canvas using the stitch, varying width and length as I sewed. I built the rows up to make a great piece of fabric. One boring minute this past week I played with the pic of the original in befunky.com. I love how the colors of thread changed in these along with the main color.
Isn't that cool? These would look good made into a piece of fabric. Fun..
Beautiful Mela is 6 months now. At Darcy's 15th birthday party Friday night, she feasted on peas! No cake for this baby! MMM. Ian & his friend, Andrew, had me take pics of her with them. Darcy & her friend, Ashley, played and danced with her. She loved it!
The laptop saga continues. I still cannot find my pictures. That is bad. Very bad. It was as slow as dial up for the last few days. Unplugged the modem for a bit. Seems to have made a change. I fear it is a slow demise. I am not prepared.
Can I do my own taxes? I have no dependents, no special circumstances that require additional forms. Should be simple.

I have learned:
- I will be watching the Superbowl tonight for the first time in many years. I need to keep track of the quarter scores. Good luck!
- I have restarted my redwork snowmen blocks using a nice tidy chain stitch. Like the thicker look.
- Jenn is pregnant as you know. She posted a pic of her dinner earlier this week, which prompted much ewwws and ughs and a few hmmmms. Hard boiled egg with sour cream. I was a hmmmmm.
- Michael ran to the library today for a new book to read. First...awesome that he takes time to read books. Second...open library on a Sunday?
- The best oatmeal. Abundance. Hope I can find it in stores. This was at Ollie's.
- My friend Annie has a daughter that plays high school hockey very well. This is a pic of Meagan I played with in befunky.com. (Above)
